WHAT NOT TO DO YOUR FRESHMAN YEAR OF COLLEGE

Being in college for the first time, there is still a lot for you to learn and know not to do. My freshman year was definitely a learning experience for me and this is a list few tips of things you should not do in your first year.

SKIP CLASS

Once you start skipping class, it will become a bad habit you can't break, especially in your first year in college. Being in college, you quickly realize you have to keep a routine, once you don't ( like consistently going to class) you become lazy.

DECLARE A MAJOR

You just got to college and you're still figuring out what you want to do, allow your freshman year to be the year you do just that.

You haven't been exposed to anything new yet, this is your time to do just that and then later on when you feel the major you chose is really what you wanna do then go right ahead and declare your major

FORGET TO CALL YOUR PARENTS

OKay, I know how easy it get wrapped up in your new world but don't forget you still gotta make sure you check in with your parents.

You're on your own but they still want to make sure you're okay and taking care of yourself.

PROCRASTINATE DOING YOUR ASSIGNMENTS

Just like skipping class, once you start procrastinating, it's kind of hard to stop. Then leading to you having a bunch of backed up assignments you have to do in one night.

ISOLATE YOURSELF & not make friends

This is honestly the quickest way to drive yourself in an early depression. Making friends and getting out there is a great way to not only assimilate to a new environment but have people around you that will go through most of your problems with you.

NOT ASK QUESTIONS

IT'S OKAY TO ASK QUESTION, in fact you should. You're in a new environment, its impossible to know everything. The more you ask, the more you know.

neglect MAKing CONNECTIONS

One of the most important lessons I've learned since being in college is that your network is your net worth. You won't realize how true this is until you need those connections that you never made.

FORGET WHY YOU'RE IN COLLEGE

Don't get. me wrong, college is an experience and you should make the most of it by figuring out who you are and who you want to be.

But don't forget why you are there, its still 4.0 season! Make sure you making ht most out of college while still staying on top of your work.

IGNORE YOUR PROFESSORS OFFICE HOURS

Y'all... please do not underestimate the power of going to your professors office hours.

Professors love to see student who show initiative for their education, I promise you your grade will be rewarded for it.

BEING CLOSED OFF TO CHANGE

College is all about growing, don't close yourself off to experiencing new thing. You'd be missing everything good college has to offer.

NOT HAVE A PLANNER

When I tell y'all I was so mad at myself for not having a planner first semester.

I am a HEAVY procrastinator ( I know what I said about not procrastinating but hey I'm learning lol) and I was sincerely all over the place keeping up with all my assignments and meetings without it.

Don't be like me, please get a planner.

TAKE ON TOO MUCH

I made this mistake whenI first got to college, I tried to do everything because I wanted to make sure I was making the most out of being in college. You have time, it's okay to start off slow until you get a handle of your new life.

HIDE IN YOUR DORM ROOM

Your'e limiting your college experience and what being away way at school is really meant to be like. GO OUT, ENJOY YOUR NEW LIFE! It's okay to be scared but don't let it stop you.

EAT UNHEALTHY

Starting college, I could care less about trying to eat healthy, I was honestly

happy eating anything when I got hungry.

This isn't a good thing , its important to still stay healthy and eat the right way,
