BIGGEST LESSONS I LEARNED BEFORE 19
Updated: Jun 16, 2020

The more we grow, the more we learn and realize we don't actually know everything (even though I love to think I do). Over the years, these are the biggest lessons I've learned.
1. Don't watch them, you have time
I think one of the biggest things I had to really realize was that I have time. Like me, I know there are so many things you wanted to get accomplished.
I constantly felt like I wasn't getting anywhere and I was running out of time.
Making it worse, I saw people may age doing great things and felt like I wasn't even trying. Don't get me wrong, it put a battery in my back to get on my goals but I also had to realize we are both on different journeys and there is still time to accomplish everything I want.
2. Don't make big choices based off someone else
A lot times, we tend to get carried away in situations, whether its a relationship or family.
I really realize is that at the end of the day, you have to make choice for you.
It's the worst feeling when you have a sense of regret for doing or not doing something. You're on a journey, make sure the choices you make are what's best for YOU.
3. It's okay to be selfish
For many people it may be hard to say "no" but I promise you its okay. Sometimes even necessary.
Understand you will be put in predicaments where you have to choose you.
IT'S OKAY TO CHOOSE YOU.
There is nothing wrong with doing what's best for yourself, everybody else be damned. Trying to please others doesn't always work out, you tend to end up just hurting yourself in the long run.

4. Not everyone is gonna have the same mindset as you do
So many times, you may wonder "how could they do that?". Mostly because you know, you could never. Everyone's mentality is different from yours.
Just because you wouldn't do it, doesn't mean they wouldn't.
They don't have your heart or think the way you do
5. Others hurting you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them
There were times where I've been hurt by someone I cared about and blamed myself, even when I know I didn't do anything.
It's like even though you may know that, you just still feel like you could have done something different to change the outcome.
Their actions are not on you. I know it may feel like it is, but they made the choice to hurt you.
NEVER blame yourself for them not seeing your worth.
6. People Change
This one was hard for me to learn. I'm not a big fan of change and feel that the same person I met in the beginning should remain just that.
But this doesn't always happen.
People are on their own journey too and they tend to change on the way. Don't take it personally. You may change too, for the better. It's okay.
Everything you go through in life has a purpose, don't put the weight of the world on your shoulders thinking you know it all.
